kernel panic
Hello i've a computer that return this message at start up:
"warning: unable to open an initial console kernel panic - not syncing: non init found. Try passing init = option to kernel"
Do you have any idea about how I could solve this problem?
I've tried to load the pc with knoppix to see the menu.lst file in directory /boot/grub/ but the system can't load knoppix beacause it says that the filesystem is not found...

FANGA, I'm just taking a guess here, but it could be a hardware problem. Seems strange that you can't boot up knoppix. Are you sure your knoppix CD is good. Have you tried it in another machine? How about a different linux OS just to see if it will work. That's about all the help I can offer.

Welcome fanga,
seems like init file is missing. Do you have other Live-CD ? if so try and login to the machine and"warning: unable to open an initial console kernel panic - not syncing: non init found. Try passing init = option to kernel"
post the grub.conf file contents and also post the output of

I tryed to use a live cd but i can't run the system in this way. I'm sure that the knoppix cd works correctly because i've used it few days ago.
It's possible that this problem is referred too an hardware issue?

What's the error message you are getting while using Knoppix Live cd? that might provide more clue.

when i try to start the machin with a live cd it returns:
Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry.
Dropping you to a (very limited) shell.
Press reset button to quit.
It's very strange because in others pc the live cd works correctly.
