Missing yenta_socket object file
Hello,
I am running Redhat 8.0. I upgraded the kernel by downloading the
sources and compiling. I upgraded to version 2.6.9.
I have a problem now because for some reason the new version did
not compile the yenta_socket PCMCIA driver file. If I look in the
directory /lib/modules/2.6.9/kernel/driver/pcmcia the file yenta_socket.ko
isn't there.
However, in the other kernel's directory (the one that came with Redhat8)
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/driver/pcmcia, yenta_socket.o is there.
This problem means that my Laptop doesnt recognize my PCMCIA WLAN
card when I boot up.
Could somebody please tell me why I am missing this object file and
I what I should try to fix the problem ?
Thanks
Khusro
PS... I am new to Linux.
