Core dumping a kernel module
This may be somewhat of a newb question but I"m having trouble finding documentation for it so I thought I'd ask.
I'm using a commercial ethercat package that utilizes a kernel space and a user space application (a few kernel modules and some user space APIs). We're in somewhat of a time critical (need to reboot by end of day) situation and but we've encountered what we think is a bug that we want them to debug since we've reported it a few times and it happens fairly rarely. We'd love to just give them a coredump of all of the relevant modules to give them so that we can reboot and move on. Is there a good way to do this? We do have root access to the RTPC.
We're using an Ubuntu distribution (Intrepid Ibex) and we have the build tools installed so we should have everything we need but we can apt-get anything we don't have.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help!
