I am working on a CompactFlash memory card driver on a custom embedded SoC platform. The driver operates in the true IDE mode and makes use of the libATA subsystem.

I am using a timer to monitor the card detection input. How do I notify the libATA subsystem upon detection of card insertion/removal? Is there a particular libATA API function to use for this?
