Backlight Control 2.6.28.xxx Gone In 2.6.30.xxx
Hi!
I found out why the command
works and helps me adjust brightness control of my laptop in Fedora 10 but not in Fedora 12. Mint 7 and not in MInt 8.Code:xrandr --output LVDS --set BACKLIGHT_CONTROL native
This is a common problem or bug in the kernel. Apparently, this command works on
2.6.28.xxx but not in 2.6.30.xxx and above.
I'm not sure of what to do at this point but may I ask if it would be possible to try hacking the kernel in order to modify and make backlight control work again even in 2.6.30xxx and above versions?
If its feasible, may I please ask some assistance regarding the same?
However, should you think that it can really be a bloody mess for me to try, what are my other options please?
Any comments are sincerely appreciated.
Thanks!
