Why is that my kernel has root=/dev/disk/uuid -(some-crap) instead of something simple like root=/dev/sda or something like that ?...

root option for kernel contains a very long diskname
Why is that my kernel has root=/dev/disk/uuid -(some-crap) instead of something simple like root=/dev/sda or something like that ?

in case disk order is changed by BIOS or other means it will use the correct disk by its unique uuid

How does bios change the disk order ?. Just curious .
