you can see the text bootup messages rolling and just before prompt you see scrambled video. my guess is that its loading a framebuffer driver that doesn't work. it there a way i can force the kernel to load a more compatible video mode. i dont care, as long as i get a text console. I a guessing this also has to do with virtual consoles which efi doesn't support.
does efi have vga text mode? i am guessing not.
