And all this time I thought it was just me experiencing this odd phenomenon! Looks like vBulletin developers have decided that everyone out there is/should be running on widescreen monitors and each window is/should be maximized - !

I'm afraid that's the case. IMHO there is bad CSS in the page, or something equivalent, so text just gets clipped to the right of the size of the main text area of the screen. You either have to set your text size really tiny, or stretch your browser window horizontally. You can do that by dragging the whole window to the left, then dragging the right side over to the right so that the window is wider than the screen. Then you can drag the whole window back and forth instead of scrolling horizantally within the windows. It's nasty.
