I tried -ac1, -ac2 and even -bk4...
From sound/pci/intel8x0.c
Our M/B has that SiS chipsetCode:* This code also contains alpha support for SiS 735 chipsets provided * by Mike Pieper <mptei@users.sourceforge.net>. We have no datasheet * for SiS735, so the code is not fully functional.
I'll try to compile 2.6.10 with my conf from 2.6.9 to see if it's due to confiugration or the source itself. If that doesn't help, i'll mail the developers...

I didn't get a reply (yet). Kernel developers tend to be pretty busy, so nothing is really granted - at least they know about the problem.
You can use 2.6.9, can't you? Or is there something you specifically need in 2.6.10? I don't know what kernels Suse has ready compiled, but you can always compile your own...

Sound problem in 2.6.10
Found this solution which worked for me (Thinkpad X31, Fedora core 3)
https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedo.../msg03432.html
To summarise you need to mute "Headphone Jack Sense" in alsamixer.
