What happens if you don't *have* the "headphone jack sense"? It doesn't show up on the alsamixer for me.
Just roll back to an 2.6.9 until they fix it?...

I have the same problem: a k7s41gx mainboard with Suse 9.2 (kernel 2.6.8). Everything seems fine and configured correctly, but there's no sound.
Has anyone reached the developers yet, or has had another idea on how to fix this?

I just solved the problem! I played around in alsamixer and muted the "IEC958 Capture Monitor". After that, the sound played fine. Well, strange enough...
This problem seems to exist for other onboard sound chips, too. I got the idea after reading this thread: http://www.linux-club.de/viewtopic.php?t=6247 I don't see though why the distributors don't just alter the default settings...
