    Need information about kernel alarms

    Hi,

We are working on developing an Alarm Manager module in our project which manages all alarms reported by different modules centrally. Couple of days back, we received a comment saying "How are you handling alarms from Kernel?"

I didn't have any information about kernel alarms. I googled and only found RTC alarms. Can anyone let me know about different alarms that kernel can send and corresponding link if any?

    Linux Kernel version is 2.6.32

You can set an alarm an the kernel will signal you when it expires - man alarm(2).

Perhaps they were referring to signals and used the wrong term?
