    Kernel panic: I have no root and I want to scream

    i have installed redhat 9 with kernel 2.4.20-8 in my pc and i hv installed the kernel source 2.4.7-10 and recompiled....

    but on booting it shows the error : "Kernel panic: I have no root and I want to scream"

    help me....
