Hi dear friends , i am using slackware for a long time.(now 10.0)I compiled kernel 2.6.7 and made the changes according to my sata disk...Then when i reboot wit the new kernels , the system says "VFS:Unable to mount root fs on unknown block...." , also i tried mkinitrd and it did not work.

I tried booting the system with grub and lilo , and still i cant use my new kernel on my sata disk .Hope someone can help me about this .
P.S:I compiled kernel 2.6.7 and 2.6.9 on pata hdd it woks good.
