    updating the kernel. is it worth it

    hi all, i wanted to know if i should update my kernel. if it's worth the trouble, could you tell me how to do it exactly? because i wouldn't want to mess my kernel up.

    Some like to always be running the latest kernel, but it's not really necessary unless you have problems with your present kernel. You should be able to add a new kernel and keep your old one so that you can boot into it in case the new kernel gets goofy in some way.
