Ldconfig Very Slow(Urgent)
Hi,
I do not have much experience with kernel compilation. I just tried once.
I'm using slackware 10.2. As long as I was using the 2.6.13 kernel binary provided in the second CD, I did not have any problem. The startup time was 45 secs.
But when I tried and compiled the kernel source from the same CD. I find that the startup time has increased to as much as 55 secs.
I also find that the startup is slowed down during the execution of ldconfig, nowhere else.
Where did I go wrong??

What does your /etc/ld.so.conf say?
