I compiled 2.6.17.7 and I'm getting theese errors:

Mounting udev on /dev failed : invalid argument
mknod /dev/console : File exists
0 //this is zero
And booting stops.

Booting problems after compiling 2.6.17.7
Hi,
I compiled 2.6.17.7 and I'm getting theese errors:
And booting stops.Code:Mounting udev on /dev failed : invalid argument mknod /dev/console : File exists 0 //this is zero
When I choose recovery mode, booting stops at Waiting for root file system...
I have ext2, ext3 and IDE driver compiled staticaly, am I missing something?

what distro is this? can you boot into the old kernel? what was your old kernel?

It is Ubuntu and yes, I can boot into old kernel. But i'd like to boot to my new kernel too, but I probably didn't compile something I really should.
