    kernel panic after compiling new kernel 2.6.5

    I compiled the new kernel linux-2.6.5,but when i want to boot the new
    kernel is halting with this messge:
    mountig root file system
    mount error 19 mounting ex3
    pivootrootivot_root(/sysroot,/sysroot,/initrd) failed:2
    freeing unused kernel memory:124k freed
    kernel panic:No init found.Try passing init=option to kernel
    the grub menu.lst is as:

    You don't really need the initrd /initrd-2.6.5.img so you could comment out that line if you want or change it to initrd /initrd-2.4.20-8.img and see what happens.

    init=<where init is located on hdd>
    Me & Myself just ganged up on I....... Now We all have problems..and none of Us are speaking!
