Hi all,

I successfully installed kgdb patch linux-2.6.15.5-kgdb-2.4
for linux-2.6.15, but get the following error when trying to boot with the patched kernel:

VFS: Cannot open root device "LABEL=/" or unknown-block(0,)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

I am using Linux VolGroup manager VLM as shown below.

As I read on some other forums, I tried changing the boot option in grub loader from root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet

to root=/dev/sda2 and sda1 etc....but when I try booting with this option it repeats the error message saying no such file.

sda does exist of course, but there is still some problem. Any clues as to what I'm missing? Will kgdb work with VLM or am I hosed and have to re-install under old fashioned sda boot device?

Thanx a bunch

-Glenn
