    Linux internals books

I am looking for recommended books, not online documents, that address the following:

    1. Internals of Linux.
    2. Linux equivalent of Windows API.

Searching for "linux kernel" at Bookpool and Amazon lists some possibilities.
    But which are recommended?

    Here's a good book:

O'Reilly Media -- Bookstore: Understanding the Linux Kernel, Third Edition

Do some online shopping for the best price.

Well, I bit the bullet and purchased today:

    1. Understanding the Linux Kernel (ISBN: 0596005652)
    2. Linux Programmer's Toolbox (0132198576)
    3. Linux Programming by Example: The Fundamentals (0131429642)
    4. GNU/Linux Application Programming (1584503718)
    5. Linux Administration Handbook (0131480049)

There's likely a lot of overlap in the 3 programming books, but each is likely to contain a few tidbits making the purchase worthwhile.

O'Reilly's Linux Network Internals for further information about how Linux deals with network issues. Nice NAPI description
