    kernel panic

my computer was running very fine till today, when i started in linux, it said that stack pointer is garbage , BAD EIP VALUE, EXCEPTION IN INTERRUPTand kernel panic and not syncing. when booted with win xp, it just stopped in a blank screen and when i tried using safe mode, i got the message similar to kernel image missing..

The bios detected my hard drive correctly , memory value was also correct.. how can i trouble shoot that and find out the error.

Looks like it might be hardware failure:
    "bad eip value"
