I am missing something basic but fundamental
I have read as much as I can about getting a kernel source installed.
I am running Debian Woody 3.0 r2. I want to add a video card and ALSA support into the kernel (yes I know ALSA should be built in but it aint.)
I have tried
Code:
apt-get install kernel-source-2.4.25
But it doesn't work (can't find the kernel source in the data bases). I am using the standard debian databases. I really want to use the Debian managing programs to install and configure the source, so if anyone can help guide me without downloading the kernel source from the Linux Kernel Archives and doing it by hand, I would appreciate it. Am I downloading the wrong kernel source from Debian???
Man....each time I get a new distro, I feel like I relearn this stuff lol
