Hi, i am new to linux and using Feroda Core 6. So far as i know the linux kernel is the vmlinuz-2.6.18 file located in /boot/ which is less than 3MB. But linux kernel source downloads typically exceed 50MB. So why just the vmlinuz file is not available for download. For example i need the version 2.6.20 kernel i. e. vmlinuz-2.6.20
Because the kernels in kernel.org are vanilla source-only distributed kernels, they are supposed to be compiled and configured by the user.
If you want just the binary, use binaries ;) (rpm, tgz, deb ...)
