Red face How to detect a SATA drive from Knoppix 5?

Hello everyone,
I am very new and keen in trying out to Linux/Knoppix but got stuck when knoppix wasnt able to detect my SATA drive.
When I boot from a Knoppix 5 live DVD, Knoppix was not able to detect my SATA HDD. My SATA HDD can be detected in the BIOS and there are 3 partition:

Partition1 holds XP Pro
Partition2 prepared to install Knoppix on it.
Partition3 holds Vista.

I am able to boot XP and Vista with no problems. So, my question is if I am not able to detect my SATA drive during Knoppix live DVD bootup, how do I tell Knoppix that I have a SATA drive with partition2 ready for its hard disk installation?

Thank you for your help!

How did you determine that it did not detect it? What is the output from
Code:
sudo /sbin/fdisk -l
(That's a lowercase L)

I dont see any Hard disk icon on my desktop only a floppy drive icon plus a knoppix icon, when I use conqueror to look around, I dont see any hard disk icon as well.

When I use your code in the terminal screen, it returns nothing(no error, no msg).

^^"

I would suggest you to start a new thread for this problem. Execute this
Code:
su
lspci
Post output in New Thread.

Did you execute 'su' command before executing fdisk -l?

Knoppix uses sudo, so your command would be:
sudo fdisk -l

I just checked it. su and sudo, both work fine in Knoppix.

Cool, I did not know that. Is there a particular password to use with Knoppix su?

I know Sabayon uses sabayonuser as password.
