Cool root's password

I am a noob.
I was trying to install Limewire for linux on my computer. In the process was was brought to "Install - KPackage"
When I clicked Install it asked me for the "root's password" I don't know what that is and I assumed it was blank. I was wrong.
Also, are all the dependences for limewire in Knoppix, mostly sun related? Is Knoppix a debian?

During the installation you've been asked to put a password for root ! or probably it's your user password . there is a possibility to reset it.

yes Knoppix is debian based.

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks guys. It never prompted me for a password, but that was helpful as long as I can reset it. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.
