A Feather Linux Problem

When I try to boot from my feather linux CD, it comes up with the boot: command line. No matter what I type here, I can't get it to boot, it just restarts my computer. What's wrong?

Hi and Welcome !

Did you try hitting Enter key without typing anything at boot: prompt?

Yes, I did. It tells me "you passed an undefined mode number." You have any other suggestions?

You might try experimenting with some of the boot options that are available to you through the F-keys right before the CD begins to fully boot.

Do you mean in the Feather Linux boot options or those of my computer? Being the total noob I am, I wouldn't even know what options to change.

The Feather Linux boot options.

I'd try the options that have to do with video settings first, such as resolution, vga, refresh rates, etc.

I'm still a little bit lost. What do you want me to change to settings to? Sorry to keep asking you questions. This is my first time using Linux but I REALLY want to get it working.

I don't run Feather, so I'm not sure what options they have on the CD, but it might be about the same as the Knoppix options since it's based on Knoppix.

To give you an idea what they might look like, here's a link showing Knoppix cheatcodes (boot options):

Just experiment a bit...

For instance, try booting the CD with vga=normal at the end of the boot command.

Let us know how it goes.

Nothing worked! I even tried the "tips and trick" on the page you gave me. FL either tells me I've passed undefined mode numbers or it just restarts my computer.
