sharing files on DSL

Hi, I've been spoiled by GUI's I guess. Can someone tell me how to share a file or folder in DSL and how to see files shared by Ubuntu and Windows computers on the same network?

guess I should have been more specific. I can't figure out how to even make a folder and then how to get to its properties to make it a shared folder. I know how to use samba and it is installed. I don't have a rightclick and create new and I don't have a real desktop. I can't seem to use the file browser to make a file or folder. I guess that's the price for a small os. I have replaced it with Debian and it seems to work ok on the old computer. I'll have to try and figure it out when I have no life and can spend hours in front of the computer. LOL I'm almost there but with school and work I don't have time for it. Thanks for the reply though.
