Disk On Key cannot be mounted

Hi, everyone !
I use an old version Knoppix 4.0.
This is my problem:
I have 2 USB Disks-on-key - an old one (unknown 32MB) and a new one (SanDisk cruzer 4GB).
Both of them cannot be automatically detected on plug-in. Moreover, I cannot mount them manually as well (mount -t auto /dev/sdb1 /somedir).

If I plug each of them (or both of them at the same time) before I boot the computer, only the old one is detected (and then it CAN be used properly).

So the new Disk-on-key cannot be used at all (under Windows it works fine).

Any help or suggestion will be appreciated.

when you plug in the usb key run this .

tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages .

if you don't see that the kernel recognize it , then you have to switch to newer versions of Knoppix, it's like to plug a new device in a old windows .

Regards.
