Do I have to enter something to get knoppix to boot after it scans my hard drive?

After the Knoppix Live DVD scans the hard drive, it stops and acts like I should enter something into the prompt. If I enter nothing it does not continue any further. Thanks for any help with this.

Need some more information, when is this occurring?
Does it occur during booting, after booting?

This occurs during booting. The desktop never boots, it just gets stuck on the
"colored letter" scanning page. The disc is not damaged as it works fine on another desktop PC. The desktop PC in question is an HP a1230n that has recently been reformatted and currently has no OS.
