knoppix problems

I have knoppix v5.1 DVD Specials

I got it to try out linux without having to install a second OS on my portable. So far its quite impressive. And I'm seriously considering to find a suitabla distribution.

However I have some problems with knoppix. I'm using it on a portable with a wireless network and cable network...when at uni, in the grouproom its supposed to use cable. But I can't shut off the wireless LAN. It keeps asking for a pass word, which I didn't set. Also I need to set a proxy. And I can't figure how to do that.

So I guess I'm asking two questions here:
What is that password that knoppix asks for?
How do I make my LAN configs work with proxy and all that?

the proxy should just be set in the web browser you are using usually, somewhere in the connection settings, no idea about the wireless

I've found several places in the konqueror browser to set a proxy. But I don't know what to type where.
The uni offers two ways to set up the proxy server:

http://www.plan.aau.dk/proxy.pac
- for automatic configuration by script
and

wwwproxy.plan.aau.dk:3128 or wwwproxy.plan.aau.dk PORT: 3128

I don't know what to fill in where. And I believe I've tried all possibilities with no good result. Computer still wasn't able to connect to the internet. That leads me to believe that the computer does not know wether to use the Wireless LAN or cable LAN.

I'm new here as well. I'm having the same issue. That code did not work for me. I got it to work by not loading the devices, but I dont know how to access them once I get in. Please help.
