Thanks! I'll be proceeding with caution.

I am using knoppix 5.1.1 and installed into sata HDD using poor man's install procedure from the steps given in TINA: KNOPPIX Live CD

Now i am trying tot upgrade the kernel to 2.6.23.12 and getting error in lilo.conf when trying to install the custom linux image file(.deb). Is this problem because of Knoppix or am i doing it in wrong way?

Hello East,

Why are you putting your problem at the end of another thread? I think you should start a new one.
If you've read this thread all the way through, you'll see that both devils casper and myself have strongly advised NOT to install Knoppix on a hard drive. This probably explains the problems you are having with it.
