Knoppix 5.3.1 and NTFS

I have searched far and wide trying to discover how knoppix 5.3.1 is used to mount read/write on a NTFS drive. The only clue I have thus far is running the DVD and mounting all my ntfs drives. Upon shutting down I observed the drivers that were shut down (killed). I saw 3 instances of ntfs-3g listed. Does Knoppix 5.3.1 automatically load these drivers when a drive is mounted? If not, do I need to boot this program from the command line?

Thanks for any help. I am new to the forum.

I have the same problem with the NTFS usage.

1) Sometimes it works to mount the drive, other times not.
2) Sometimes I can read and copy from the drive but to write to it I have to FTP in to the machine running Knoppix. or FTP down from another machine using NTFS and FTP server software.

Very quirky.
