Using knoppix to boot Windows xp

Hi,

I am trying to fix a booting problem under windows "searching boot record from IDE 0" I looked at a few other website and one solution was given by using knoppix as a boot device and then load windows. Unfortunately knoppix V5.1 does not load, I get the knoppix main menu page with the option f2 and f3 but that's it when I select boot and dark blue screen appears and nothing.... Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hi there, I never used that pc before in fact I finished putting it together just last week.
The mother board never used before is ASRock K7VT2 Series "2002"
Processor is AMD Athlon (tm) "2002"
Hard Drive is a Samsung HDD
Graphics Card is imported from another PC and it is a MSI, unfortunately I have no way of knowing what card it is.....
Hope it helps
Thanks
