audio problems

i have knoppix 5.1 and can not get sound system to work. it says the drivers aren't there cananyone give any information as to were to find them or how to compile them/
thank you this may have been covered but i haven't found it sorry kinda new to linux

If you have the Knoppix 5.1.1 DVD the driver should be in the DVD. Give the forum some more info, like the total name of Knoppix Distro you have, What your computer make and specs are, If you open Terminal and type in

Code:
lspci
and hit enter. Just copy and paste the readout into your next post and smarter members than me can then assist you. Don't be shy, the more detailed info given in a post gives way better results, and quicker solutions to problems like these. Have fun and good luck.
