damn small linux problems

Hi, my xp hasnt been able to boot for a few weeks now....when ever it turns on i just get verifying dmi pool data then boot from cd/dvd, but dont have the xp disc. i decided to try and run damn small linux on the broken pc. i downloaded unetbootin and ran it on my crusier and memory card (in memory card reader) but none will boot up! iv tried all the usb boot options from the windows f12 boot screen but nothing will work! im extremely knew to this stuff, can anyone help???

For using a USB install, you could try this link: Boot and run Linux from a USB flash memory stick | USB Pen Drive Linux

Something that would probably easier would be to get your hands on a Damn Small CD, then run the installer.
