Help needed with Knoppix Live CD

Hi! everyone, I am a newbie to Linux, and today I was trying to run a knoppix Live Cd without installing it on my HD. So it boot it normally, and even showed me the command prompt, but when it was time for the GUI to come up ( at least I think so) It gave a message that goes:

ATTENTION:
90k /60hz

Frequency is out of range

My initial reaction is that it has some to do with resolution or refresh rate and may be I could be wrong.

So anyone that can help with that problem I would appreciate it tremendously!

My computer:
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.26GHz
memory is about 768 MB

P.S: a little step by step help will be very welcome since I am a newbie w/ Linux!!!!!
Thanks in advance

Hello, and Welcome to forums..

There are some limits to troubleshoot the live cds.

It is possible that knoppix is failing to probe monitor/gfx card properly.
Have you tried any other live distro?

Problem is with Monitor only. Knoppix is not configuring its HorizSync and VertRefresh rates.
Pass xvrefresh=60 or vsync=60 option to kernel at startup. Check more cheats codes here.

Yes ! Knoppix DVD has a lot of WMs. Its for Live use only and installation is not recommended by developers.
