Question Knoppix 6.0.1, Saving Data?

I am using a live CD to run Knoppix 6.0.1 on my computer. But when ever I change something like the desktop background it never saves the changes I made. How can I get it to save?

Thanks,
-Zaid-

P.S. I'm trying to get it to save on a USB pen drive. (1GB)

P.S.S I'm new here, and to Linux.

I have already checked out the later one, and there is no config settings or anything like that. For the fisr link, the version I'm using doesn't work anything like the version there talking about. I had to mount the USB pen drive in the LXTerminal.

EDIT: I would post a pic of the one I'm using but, I don't have 15 posts.

Just go to google images, type in 'Knoppix 6.0.1' and find the one with 'LDE' and it has a symbol in between the 'L' and 'D'.

Sorry about the bump but,

Couldn't I just make an image file and set it as the home? If so, how would I set the file as the home. (and have it automatically save.)

Yes, it appears that they've changed the way saving settings works. However, according to the last post in this thread, there is an option in 6.01 to Save to Flashdrive, but I don't have that version, so can't test it. If it doesn't work, perhaps someone running 6.01 will chime in with additional info for you.

If you create a persitent /home image, Knoppix should find it as long as you have the pendrive plugged in on boot.

I have used knoppix 5.1 to do this but I'm not sure if 6. supports it or not. On the system tray at the bottom of your screen you should see an icon with a Penguin on it. browse through this menu and you should find something like "Create persistent Knoppix image" or something similar.

There is no such penguin or Configurations of which you speak. And the 5.1 is not compatible with 6.0.1. Someone I know tried that.
