Installing a program in Knoppix 6.0.1

Zaid Just Joined! Join Date: Jul 2009 Posts: 7	Installing a program in Knoppix 6.0.1 So let's say I go to Linux.org and on the 'Applications' page I download a game. How would I install it or get it to work?

There are a lot of formats available like .deb, .rpm, binary or source files and each has different command for installation. Have you tried Synaptic Package Manager? markharding557 Linux Newbie Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: england Posts: 138	go to the softwares website to see if there is a .deb since knoppix is debian based you should use .deb if possible
