I've got some trouble with my windows install, so I'm running on Knoppix 3.6 instead.. Which is btw a really great OS, but that's another story..

My problem is, that I don't know what the root password is.. I've looked everywehere, but there is no answer in the manual, and I really need it!
So I hope one of you guys can help me out, because it's really important!

Hm, it none of those worked either. :s

Isn't there any other possibilities?

Been looking about the web and it seems that there is no rootpass, so to get into root in a terminal just su and then press enter;

Know, have already tried it.. And it works fine, can easily log ind through a terminal, but the problem is, that I have to change some things in the settings of the computer..

And when I go to change them, using Konquerer, i'm asked to log in as root.. Have tried just to sign in both with no pw, and with su, root, toor as pw's.. None of them works, and it really pisses me off..

But i'm very thankful for your help, and really hope you can get rid of this problem for me

open a terminal, type:

then type the command:

and you should be able to establish a new password

just tried it on my arch system and worked like a charm
