writing to disk

i know this is probably a VERY commonly asked question... but can kanotix write/read from a FAT 32 or NTFS drive? Also, does kanotix save its settings on the hard drive?
I know kanotix isn't knoppix, but kanotix IS based on knoppix. So... just a question.

Most modern kernels can write to a FAT32 out of the box, but NTFS is another story... But I'm sure that a LiveCD distribution will have NTFS rw turned on.
