prolly this is not the best forum to ask about it but i had no better idea.

i would like to now if there is a relatively easy way to write a program to intercept a keypress and change it to something else.
example: so that when i write something in kword and type "/a", it changes it to "a with acute, this little line over a" or "\e" to "e gravis, another little line over e".

or maybe there already is a program that does it?

this is actually quite important for me (studying linguistics).
please, help me...

I'm sorry, I'm just posting here so I get notified if someone
answers, because that would be really usefull for me too.

I wish I could change all the numbers at the top for accented
characters (who needs 2 sets of number keys?), I'm so
bored with typing é and stuff all the time...
