Join Date: May 2005 Posts: 5	Knoppix doubts I got knoppix linux from a friend who lives in canada, i live in the UK, and i need to know if it is possible to use linux from the CD, when i try and access the CD nothing happens, and i tryed when i rebooted, is there a problem with the CD or is it my drive? Another question, will it work on the following: Xp pro SP1 399MHZ Pentium 2 process 192mb/RAM 18.6GB hard drive 9.6GB/free

signet Just Joined! Join Date: Mar 2005 Posts: 18	Are your booting preferences set right? It happened to a friend of mine who wanted to see what linux is like. She tried using the Knoppix live CD I gave. Finally we discovered that her booting preference were not set correctly and the system was booting from HD instead of the CD.

s'tan Just Joined! Join Date: May 2005 Location: BiH Posts: 19	go to BIOS and set that the first boot device is CD-ROM. it has to work then. if not, then it's up to the CD.
