HOW TO INSTALL RPM IN KNOPPIX

Hiyall!!

I'm running knoppix 3.8.2 and is using it now to connect to the internet.

I've downloaded an RPM but when I tried to install it, menu pops up saying I need to install using Alien.

Could you please help me in the right direction? Thanks

I don't mean to give you a RTFM, but if you try "man alien" that should give you some helpful information, such as syntax, and how alien converts rpm's to deb's.

Knoppix is Debian-based, and Debian uses .deb-files instead of .rpm
Type:
Code:
alien -k [package]
as root to convert the package to the .deb format
