how to make the CD image of knoppix on your harddisk

hi,

I am new to knoppix . Can any1 tell me how to make your HDD boot from the CD image of knoppix(I hope its legal). Also tell me whether there is only one working environment i.e. KDE in knoppix or there are lot of other environment.

Been a while since I've done a hard-drive install of knoppix, but I think you just open a terminal and type
Code:
knx-hdinstall
as root. Yes it's perfectly legal. The DE for Knoppix is KDE, but there is a derivitave work named Gnoppix that uses Gnome; there may be others with other DEs, but I haven't been really looking into that lately. I know that there are a LOT of live CDs that use other window managers/desktop environments, but I don't know about Knoppix variants.

I tried typing knx-hdinstall as root user, but it didnt work !!!
