knoppix 3.9 cd will boot only so far, then....

...Nothing,
I have a caompaq presario sr1020nx; I boots only so far, then...nothing. Is there anyone else who had this problem and knows a way around it? (I'm using knoppix 3.9)

well. to get it to do anything i type in knoppix acpi=off
-then it sarts to boot
-then MODPROBE:fatal: could not read/lib/modules/2.6.11/kernal/drivers...ETC...not a directory

-then it starts the device auto configuration, finishes it then nothing.

It didn't automatically configure you're hardware.

Try entering modules.conf to start on boot.
