WinModem

I 've had some problems when I try to use the modem.

At startup sequence appears a message saying something like 'fatal error, couldn't find /etc/modprob'.

I also try with KPPP but refers to the same error.

I'll appreciate any help.

we'll need the full error message. At the moment it seems to be telling me that there is something wrong with a module that it is trying to load, on your behalf, from the list given in the file /etc/modprobe.conf (or possibly /etc/modules.conf). What you need is the name of the module that it is failing to find or load.

Background info. The PCI (Linmodem) requires a software driver to work. This driver is put into the /etc/modprobe.conf , so that Linux knows which modules (drivers) to load.

You can see which modules are loaded by issuing the lsmod command (as root).

But first you need to know which module is not being loaded, hence the need for the full error message.
