Knoppix and Yahoo troubles

Hi,

I am a user of yahoo messenger, but for some reason at my school (along with a few other places) i am unable to use the web messenger, so i decided to try to use the full version with knoppix (version 3.8.1) and thats when i realised i needed something to install the messenger to (these computers have windows on them, so the harddrive is NTFS, thus i cant install to it ).

Is their any way i could burn a new CD of knoppix to include Y! messenger on the cd? would a USB flash drive work if not? and where would i find a version of yahoo messenger that would be able to run on knoppix?

sorry if the questions seem dumb, but im a total linux n00b (gota start somewhere )

thanks for the help guys!

to answer that last question, use GAIM. There's probably a version that works with Knoppix.

I think Knoppix already has gaim. If it doesn't, Kanotix does.

Kanotix is based on Knoppix, both are live distro's.

Kanotix pretty much is Knoppix, with a few changes. Newer kernel, a couple of different packages, some graphical tools to setup things like wireless... Other than that, it works exactly as Knoppix. If you ever DO want to install it to harddrive, launch a root terminal and run kanotix-installer. But that's if your school lets you, hehehe
