I've gone through the forums and was unable to find a solution to the issue I am having ... I hope this is not a repeat.

I have successfully installed the latest DSL release on a USB pen drive and have managed to get it all working with the exception of of the video display. The only option available in the configuration panel is 640x480x16 ... every other resolution I try through xsetup gives very poor results.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to change the graphics display to something other than the above an get the expected results?

Below is the output from XF86CONFIG-4 which provides which I use with MEPIS and it works great ... not sure if this will help or not ...

It might help if you type "setupx" (or is it xsetup, i don't remember). That will give you some more resolution possibilities than the regular setup.

ah, he's already tried XSetup. maybe the hardware is at fault somewhere. i remember the last time i had an Intel Chipset, SuSE didn't work at all (wouldn't install), so maybe that's the problem.

Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?
