Please Help------root Password

I just installed knoppix on my laptop with Windows XP. I previously had Fedora Core 4 and I just installed knoppix. I was never asked to put in a user or root password during installation. I don't know what my root password is because it didn't ask me for it. Any ideas on how to get it or any other ideas. Please respond. Thank you.

In the command line do the following:
Code:
su -
passwd
that will set the root password for your system.

thank you so much. Now I do not know my account password. I tried passwd without doing su but it asks for (current) UNIX password and I entered my root password but it said incorrect. Any ideas? Thanks again.
