Knoppix starting difficulties

I put cd in cd-rom and restart the computer. The ''welcome window'' is displayed, it says: PRESS RETURN TO START LINUX. When I do that for few seconds is displayed loading Linux................ and then comes blackout screen( only dark).
What should I do?

Cd is working at my friends computer which is much slower machine than mine.

Not sure it'll help, but you might try disabling acpi, or apci. Some users have reported success doing that.

Send a message via MSN to fomhoire
FYI: to turn off acpi type:
acpi=off
When it asks you to press enter. If there are still problems try going through the no * section here: http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/knoppix/kn...cheatcodes.txt
