Question IP is not assigned dynamically

i am using knoppix 5.0.1 versions

when i boot with the Live CD sometimes the IP is assigned Dynamically
sometimes its not assigned dynamically

is there any service which has to be started during the boot time and not doing so ?
is there a problem with my desktop ?

how to ensure that every time i boot with knoppix the IP is assigned dynamically

what could be the problem --- can any one suggest a solution

Does your ISP/Network Admin allow such (DHCP) requests? Mine does not. Mine allows only static IP addresses. Check out yours (in case you have access to multiple ISPs)
